Storing electricity with the car

The storage of electricity represents one of the main issues of renewable energy. In fact, the photovoltaic system installed on the roof of a house generates electricity when the sun is shining, but not necessarily when there is an immediate need for electricity. Ideally, the excess energy produced should be stored. With the right batteries this is possible, but it comes with costs. And this is precisely where bidirectional charging comes into play, thanks to which the electric car can act as an electricity accumulator. Usually, it is charged in order to travel. However, with the right technology, the car is also able to supply electricity: it can, for example, store the surplus energy generated by the solar system and feed it back into the grid at a later time.

Within an energy community, you can charge your car in the company parking lot when there is overproduction and use it during the most expensive hours between the afternoon and evening, or in the morning before returning to work.
